About:

The Book of Mormon is the hit musical comedy that has been captivating and provoking audiences worldwide for over a decade. From the brilliant minds of Trey Parker and Matt Stone (creators of South Park) and Robert Lopez (co-creator of Avenue Q), this show is a hilariously irreverent take on faith, friendship, and finding purpose in unexpected places. Now celebrating its 12th year on Broadway, it has cemented its status as a modern comedic classic.

The musical centers on two mismatched young missionaries from Salt Lake City: Elder Price, a golden boy who dreams of glory, and Elder Cunningham, an awkward, well-meaning misfit. They are sent far from home to a small, poverty-stricken village in Uganda to spread their faith.

The young men face immediate challenges that test their convictions. While Elder Price struggles with the harsh reality of their mission, Elder Cunningham, eager to connect with the villagers, finds himself improvising and inventing his own, wildly imaginative version of the faith. This blend of sincerity and absurdity leads to an adventure that puts their bond and beliefs on the line.

When The Book of Mormon opened on Broadway on March 24, 2011, it was an immediate sensation. The production was showered with praise, winning nine Tony Awards, including the top honors for Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, and Best Original Score. It also earned a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album.

Directed by Casey Nicholaw and Trey Parker, the show’s success quickly expanded globally, with long runs in London’s West End, Australia, and a popular North American tour.

The musical is brought to life with a catchy, high-energy score featuring memorable tunes like "Hello!", "You and Me (But Mostly Me)", and "I Believe." Though it offers a satirical look at organized religion, its enduring appeal lies in its underlying warmth and heart, drawing fans from all backgrounds.

Anyone who appreciates biting humor, edgy comedy, and an irreverent charm will love The Book of Mormon. It's a guarantee for non-stop laughter, offering a deeper message about humanity and connection that may just leave you questioning everything—and singing all the way home.
