NEW YORK, NY — Tony Award winner Daniel Radcliffe is scheduled to return to Broadway next spring to star in Every Brilliant Thing, the acclaimed solo play by Duncan Macmillan and Jonny Donahoe.

The production will begin previews on February 21, 2026, at Broadway’s Hudson Theatre, with the official opening night set for March 12. The limited engagement will run through May 24.

Every Brilliant Thing centers on a man who, in looking back on his life, compiles a continuously growing list of every wonderful, beautiful, and delightful thing—ranging from the big to the small—that makes existence worthwhile. The one-person show has a distinguished international history, having previously run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Off-Broadway, and is currently making its West End debut. It has been performed in over 80 countries globally and was adapted for an HBO special starring co-creator Jonny Donahoe.

The show will be co-directed by Macmillan and Olivier and Tony Award nominee Jeremy Herrin, known for his work on People, Places and Things and Wolf Hall.

Macmillan praised Radcliffe's unique suitability for the challenging role: “Every Brilliant Thing tackles some serious subject matter, but the overall experience is one of joy and celebration. Every performance is unique and unpredictable and it requires virtuosic skill from its central performer.” He added that Radcliffe possesses the “intelligence, quick-wit and charm to roll with the spontaneous moments that the show invites – he can be a clown one moment, then grab you by the heartstrings the next.”

Radcliffe's return follows a highly successful period, including his recent record-breaking run in the Stephen Sondheim revival of Merrily We Roll Along, for which he earned a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical and a Grammy Award nomination for Best Musical Theatre Album.

The creative team for the Broadway revival includes:

  • Set and Costume Design: Olivier Award winner Vicki Mortimer (Follies, Closer)

  • Lighting Design: Tony Award winner Jack Knowles (Sunset Boulevard)

  • Sound Design: Tony Award nominee Tom Gibbons (1984, Grey House)

  • Casting: Jessica Ronane CDG

  • Production Stage Manager: Jhanaë K-C Bonnick

General Management is provided by TT Partners. The production is presented by Second Half Productions, Seaview, and Gavin Kalin Productions, in association with Paines Plough.

The actor’s Broadway history is extensive, beginning with his debut in Equus (2008), followed by starring turns in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (2011), The Cripple of Inishmaan (2014), and The Lifespan of a Fact and Privacy (2018). Beyond the stage, the Harry Potter alum recently garnered critical acclaim for his screen work, including winning a Critics Choice Award and earning Best Actor Emmy and BAFTA Award nominations for Weird: The Al Yankovic Story. His other notable screen credits include The Lost City, Swiss Army Man, and the final season of the TBS comedy series Miracle Workers: End Times, which he also executive produced.
